Overview
In this part of the session, you will reflect on your experiences over the last two days in regards to how you will implement the concepts and initiatives you have gained in the Summer Institute of 2012.

Objectives
The learning objectives associated with this part of the session are:
4. How to use data to meet the instructional needs of all students.
6. How to develop an implementation plan utilizing the strategies learned to facilitate local curriculum.
7. How to apply the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards in the Social Studies classroom.

Aligned North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards
Standard I - Teachers demonstrate leadership.
Standard V - Teachers reflect on their teaching practice.

Learning Targets
After this part of the session, participants will be able to do the following statement:
  • I can reflect how to maintain literacy in the Social Studies classroom.

I. Return to the Action Plan
As we finish the Institute, reflect on what you have learned and review your action plan. Spend the next few minutes discussing your plan with your peers and making any changes before taking it back to your districts. Remember that this is intended to be a collaborative document, so be sure to share it with your faculty and modify it as necessary!
